Via East Midlands are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team based out of our Bilsthorpe Head Office.

Maximising value and efficiency, we oversee procurement, estimating, and quantity surveying to keep Nottinghamshire's highways projects on track.

What you'll do:



Responsible for commercial management and reporting of the project including optimising profit, cash and opportunity/risk. Price tenders, quotations, estimates and target prices for highway and civil engineering works using manual calculation and electronic system including spreadsheets, databases and estimating systems. Responsible at Project Team level for progression of?commercial and taking proactive steps to reduce risk of disputes/disagreements.? Escalating where appropriate. Responsible at Project Team level for maintaining excellent commercial relationships with internal / external stakeholders and effective commercial management of contractors. Proactive tracking of factors which impact the business and manage commercial aspects of the change control process, budget/CVR process, forecasting, prudent assessment of provisions and invoicing process as appropriate. Responsible for ensuring commercial management at project level is progressed in accordance with contractual obligations and business policies and procedures.

What we're seeking:



An appropriate qualification in Quantity Surveying and/or transferable knowledge gained through practical experience / understanding of civil engineering, construction, economics, banking or surveying type businesses. Experience in quantity surveying, budget management, contractual awareness and adept at identifying risk. Proven track record of undertaking NEC contract commercial management building, highway or civil works. Ability to understand and evaluate technical construction drawings and specifications. Full Driving Licence. Understanding of building regulations and health and safety regulations.
