Wates Smartspace is a national business, delivering high-quality fit-out, refurbishment and property upkeep projects, enhancing its customers\xe2\x80\x99 physical assets and operating environments.

Smartspace works for banks, retailers, property developers, pharmaceutical and distribution businesses, broadcasters, owners and occupiers of commercial offices and public sector organisations. Project values range from \xc2\xa320k to \xc2\xa325m. The business has established a strong reputation for delivering projects to tight timescales and in live environments, frequently working around business-critical equipment.

As a result of our growth, we have opportunities for Site Surveyors to join our established Smartspace businesses in either Warrington, London, or Luton, to take accountability for the development and implementation of all pre and post contract strategies, commercial functions and contract reporting on delegated projects and/ or works packages.

The Main Accountabilities also include:

  • Ensure the commercial function within the business unit effectively supports the operational teams in the implementation of H&S policies
  • Regularly review, provide guidance and challenge on strategic project and business unit objectives
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality commercial reports to the client on time
  • Issue of tender enquiries and package reconciliation
  • Regular review of group CR policies and ensure project teams are updated
  • Agree external valuations/ cash flow to maximise project value
  • Produce main and subcontract final accounts with Surveying Manager
To be successful in the role you will already qualified and have some relevant experience and strong commercial skills to maximise value recovery, cost control and cash management along with the ability to use / understand financial reports and final accounts

Alongside this you will be a confident communicator, able to demonstrate the ability to form and develop relationships with client, PQS, design team and supply chain.
