About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially focused

Quantity Surveyor

to join our team in Nottingham. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing project costs, contracts, and financial performance across construction projects, ensuring value for money while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for construction projects. Manage contracts, variations, and valuations in line with company policies and client requirements. Monitor project costs to ensure financial control and profitability. Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for potential projects. Prepare interim and final accounts, financial reports, and cash flow forecasts. Ensure compliance with construction regulations, contractual terms, and health & safety standards. Liaise with project managers, engineers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure accurate financial reporting. Support procurement by evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing payments. Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

Skills & Experience Required

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the

construction industry

. Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g. JCT, NEC). Proficiency in cost estimation, tendering, and financial reporting. Excellent negotiation and analytical skills. Strong IT skills (Excel, MS Project, cost management software). Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse stakeholders. Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field (RICS accreditation desirable). Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
