The Role



As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a motivated and professional Quantity Surveyor to join us permanently to work with our team at Orbit Housing. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled QS to play a key role in our commercial management function, providing proactive and timely support.

The Client



Fortem's contract with Orbit Housing is long term with options to extend and we cover over 17,000 houses across Stratford-upon-Avon, Coventry, Nuneaton, Northampton, Milton Keynes and Bedford. We have multiple workstreams, including Repairs & Maintenance, Voids, Capital Works and Re-Roofing. Duties and Responsibilities



Your key responsibilities will include: o Ensure the company secures its full entitlement within the contract. o Promote company values and procedures internally and externally. o Ensure project teams meet or exceed budget targets. o Act as a subject matter expert on contractual arrangements. o Maximise cash flow through invoicing and resolving client queries. o Monitor job costs and revenue to support data-driven decisions. o Manage disputes and identify potential issues early. o Ensure accurate cash flow forecasts and revenue profiles o Support financial reporting and cost control governance o Oversee subcontractor orders, supplier onboarding, and team development.

What you will need



Essential criteria: o Previous experience within a similar Commercial role o Excellent IT knowledge including a high level of Excel skills (incl. V-Lookup, Pivot tables and formula development) o Negotiating and communication skills o Detailed knowledge of relevant contract conditions o Experience of Management Accounts o Full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel if required by the business. Desirable Criteria: o An industry related qualification o Knowledge of Contract Law o Professional Accountancy Qualifications or working towards Facilities Management, Accountancy or Construction related qualification o Demonstrable experience in significant & complex contract multi-disciplinary contracts. o Experience in Dispute Resolution
