Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that financial aspects of construction projects are effectively controlled and monitored. This position requires a strong understanding of cost management principles and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and overheads. Monitor project expenditures and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. Conduct regular cost analysis and reporting to identify variances and implement corrective actions as necessary. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project specifications are met within budget. Review contracts and agreements to ensure compliance with legal and financial obligations. Provide advice on procurement strategies and assist in the selection of suppliers and subcontractors. Conduct site visits to assess progress and verify that work is being completed according to specifications. Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects.

Skills

Strong analytical skills with a focus on cost control and financial management. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with clients and team members. Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail with strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations is advantageous.
