Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Quarry Manager you'll be responsible for ensuring the safe working of all quarry operational activity. You'll oversee all operations, both on site and in the office, manage staff, coordinate production and monitor all site systems. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with strong leadership skills and technical knowledge to contribute to the ongoing success of our operations.
Health & Safety
Ensure the safe operation of all fixed and mobile plant operations at site in accordance of the 1974 HASAW Act and Quarry Regulations 1999
Ensure a safe system of work is in place for all key tasks and activities
Qualification in Quarry Regulations 1999 and Health & Safety At Work Act, enabling a Reg 8.1c appointment, working closely with 8.1d and 8.1d WLR

Maintain high standard of best practice in all relevant areas and promote safe behaviour.
Delivery of weekly toolbox talks to staff, contractors and visitors and carry out of daily briefing at the start of every shift.
Carry out inductions for all site personnel, visitors, contractors and maintain records.
Appropriate reporting of any near hits, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and incidents through the company Highviz portal.
Carry out regular safety inspections of all workplaces within the quarry.
Maintain standard of high standards of best practice in all relevant areas and promote safe behaviour.

Responsibilities
Combine your knowledge of extraction and processing systems with excellent interpersonal and management skills to ensure the profitability of the quarry site.
Check that the quarry's production levels are maintained safely to schedule.
Balance production to manage sales expectation.
Liaise with sales and commercial teams.
Performance manage the production process and set and monitor targets.
Provide the company with information and statistics on the quarry's performance.
Develop links with local groups and organisations.
Manage and regulate the quarry's budget.
Maintain up-to-date records and deal with paperwork.
Ensure that key government health and safety legislation (Quarries Regulations 1999 and Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Quarries) Regulations 2008) is implemented throughout the site.
Site duties:
Closely monitor all areas of the quarry to ensure that extraction and processing work is carried out to the highest standard and most efficient means.
Provide active leadership and management of safety processes and culture to minimise risk in all operations activities.
Liaise with staff on site and deal with any technical or staffing challenges that arise.
Undertake regular site inspections and risk assessments in order to comply with all health and safety regulations.
Examine the materials produced to ensure that a high quality of product is maintained.
Assess equipment and production material levels.
Order new items as required.
Ensure that all vehicles on site are maintained to a good standard.
Operate & maintain the company Integrated Management System for the site SHE controls (Safety calendar planner)
Carry out RCA's (Root Cause Analysis) on breakdowns to learn & prevent repeats.
Manage the site P&L within budget controls & make decisions to manage & control costs.
Carry out PCDR's with your employees setting out of SMART objectives & targets.
Manage & drive all the Companies & Site's KPI's targets.
The ability to operate mobile plant on site to assist with the running operations
