The role
As a Radar Section Head, you\'ll have a role that\'s out of the ordinary. This is a key role in enabling the management, maintenance and regeneration of equipment and systems on behalf of the Royal Navy to ensure that the equipment and systems are ready for the Royal Naval maintainers to join the vessel and proceed to trials and operational service.

Day to day, you\'ll:
Be responsible for the maintenance, operation and repair of Radar and navaid engineering systems not covered in the vessels\' upkeep contracts.

  • Coordinate and manage equipment and system test and trials ensuring that the Refit Support Group (RSG) commitment and responsibility is clearly identified and communicated.
  • Be responsible to the RSG Weapon Engineer officer for the management of their equipment and systems.
  • Be responsible for the maintenance of engineering documentation in support of their section.
  • Be the focal point for all matters pertaining to their assigned equipment.
This role is full time and based onsite at HMNB Devonport.

Essential experience of the Radar Section Head:
  • Experience maintaining radar systems and Navigational aids is required for this role.
Qualifications for the Radar Section Head:
  • HNC/HND qualified or equivalent in an engineering specialisation with significant demonstrable experience.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
