Academic Placement, Radio Times

2-week placement 5th to 16th January 2026. Applications close on 5th December 2025.

This opportunity is open to students required to complete a placement as part of their course and as such will be unpaid.

About Us

We are offering a dynamic academic placement for a motivated student interested in gaining hands-on experience in the publishing industry. This opportunity will provide valuable insight into both digital and print publishing, with a focus on editorial work, press communications, and content adaptation.

What you'll do

During this placement, you will:

Assist in rewriting and adapting press releases for different audiences and platforms Support the editorial team in proofreading, fact-checking, and content development Contribute to digital content strategy, including social media and website updates Work on print production, helping to format, edit, and review upcoming publications Conduct market and competitor research to support editorial decisions Collaborate with different teams, including marketing, PR, and design

Requirements

What we're looking for

A current student in Publishing, English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field Strong writing and editing skills, with attention to detail Interest in both digital and print publishing trends Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign, or CMS platforms (a plus, but not required)
