We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Apprentices to join our team. This role is designed for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience and develop their skills in a practical environment. The Apprentice will work closely with experienced professionals, learning the fundamentals of the trade while contributing to various projects. This position is ideal for those with a keen interest in the railway and a desire to build a career in this field.

Those working within the occupation of rail engineering are responsible for the construction, installation, maintenance and renewal of the railway to provide a safe and reliable railway for customers. The rail industry has a high level of safety critical work activities requiring a disciplined and responsible approach.
Apprentices will understand the relevant tolerances for track installation, specific methods and techniques for track inspection, maintenance and replacement, what constitutes a track defect, track work instructions and extreme weather plans. Able to restore track geometry faults by manual repair of assets as part of a team. Under direction, restore plain line track geometry, rail switches and crossings, and conductor rail systems, to operational condition and maintain the track and its environment including vegetation and drainage.
Please note, that to work on the Transport for London (TfL) infrastructure, applicants must be 18 years or over and be clean shaven for the wearing of face masks.

Monday - Friday: 8:00 am - 16:30
Working nights Sunday - Thursday 22:00 - 06:30 am

Duties
Undertaking materials, handling mobilisation and removal of track materials and components from the site as directed by the person in charge. Capable of working under instruction to undertake track renewals, maintenance, or refurbishment in both the TUBE and open sections of track across TFL.
Qualifications
Applicants must have 4 x GCSE (at A-C) or equivalent, including Maths, English and preferably a Science subject. Applications without the necessary qualifications will not be progressed any further.
