Key Responsibilities:



Undertake and monitor work practices to ensure engineering work is carried out to requirements.

Compliance with all applicable legislation, Railway Group standards, Network Rail standards and M&EE Codes of Practice as are applicable to the OTP maintenance work being carried out.

Fitness to work on the rail infrastructure, minimum Level 4 Competence Specific Medical fitness.

Will be required to work across the UK here a company vehicle will be available.

Will be required to work nights, weekends and on call

Provision of fitter cover

Operate equipment and machinery in an effective and responsible manner, in line with the Company's Health & Safety policy and procedures. Ensure all defects are reported.

Wear and use the necessary PPE.

Ensure continuous, efficient production is maintained.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Ability to work unsupervised.

Report any accidents, incidents or close calls in accordance with company and industry procedures.

Carry out other specific production duties as and when required. Training and developing of self and other members of staff.

Working in accordance with the Company's health, safety, environmental and quality procedures.

Maintains product and company reputation by complying with legislation and regulations.

Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment at all times.

Maintaining discipline and professionalism at all times.

Compliance with all applicable legislation, Railway Group Standards, Network Rail Standards and M&EE Codes of Practice as are applicable to the OTP maintenance work being carried out.

Maintenance, service and repair of On-Track-Plant (OTP) in accordance with the machine service schedule as defined on the machine/equipment EAC/ECC

Bringing to the attention of the OTP Manager any Safety Critical defects found during maintenance or repair to OPT machines and equipment

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:



Good knowledge of Mathematics and English.

Effective manual skills and dexterity.

Ability to read and correctly interpret manufacturing drawings and instructions.

Ability to work to appropriate quality standards with high attention to detail.

Ability to work to targets and time deadlines.

Ability and willingness to follow verbal and written instructions.

Good team and interpersonal skills.

Flexibility - may be required to change role and/or move between production processes as required.

Ability to maintain output under pressure.

Good understanding of OTP maintenance requirements.

Identify opportunities for improvement and liaise with HSQE department to contribute to CKIMS continual improvement.

Documentation and Reporting:



Generate regular reports on framework commercial performance, and compliance with industry standards.



Collaboration:



Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and safety professionals, to facilitate seamless collaboration and communication.

Risk Management:



Identify potential risks and challenges related to a project and implement strategies to mitigate them.

Conduct regular risk assessments and recommend adjustments as needed.

Manage commercial risks within the framework.

Continuous Improvement:



Conduct regular reviews and evaluations to identify areas for improvement.

Propose and implement enhancements to optimise efficiency and outcomes.

Qualifications:



NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering

Where required hold CCCS Construction Plant Mechanic Competence

Hold RPA Rail Plant Maintenance & Repair competence (units 1 to 11)

Knowledge



Hydraulics and pneumatics

Heavy Plant

Electrics

Completion of Service Sheets

Experience of working on OTP machines and associated equipment
