The project:
Our Transportation team is growing and we have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer - E&P to join our ASPRO Rail team on a full-time permanent contract. As Project Engineer - E&P you will represent Mace whilst interfacing with our key client Network Rail. You will ensure the successful delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives.
You will be required to work across a number of Network Rail Asset Protection and Maintenance commissions with ad-hoc travel to sites.

You'll be responsible for:
Project Engineer is responsible for managing the specific discipline engineering activities through the project lifecycle, and to support the Senior Asset Protection Engineer and Network Rail Interface Manager in the successful facilitation of outside or third-party schemes.
Provide attendance at relevant project meetings and workshops, including progress meetings, CRE meetings, IDC/IDRs.
Undertake reviews of design and construction activities, ensuring compliance to relevant standards and legislation.
Respond via NR/L2/RSE/02009/F0044 DRN process with acceptance or rejection of submissions within 20 working days of receipt. Where a submission fails/rejected (Cat0/3) the areas identified are clearly communicated to the client/designer. To be re-reviewed when design submission is returned with DRN closed out.
Liaising with route engineers.
Conduct on-site engineering verifications (where required and directed by the Senior Asset Protection Engineer).
Assuring whether contractors' design, construction and specialist personnel are competent. (CEM/CRE appointment etc.)
You'll need to have:
Shall preferably be a chartered engineer and have a relevant engineering degree (BSc/BEng or equivalent) with minimum 8 years general relevant experience.
Able to undertake the NR/L2/RSE/02009 role of Project Engineer E&P (NR Authority to work required)
Shall have a sound understanding of the Construction, Design and Management (CDM) 2015 regulations, & common safety method (CSM) 2013 regulations, specifically the requirements associated with asset protection on third party, major and minor projects, always with the customer in mind.
Shall have a sound understanding of network rail's requirements regarding the risk assessment process including CSM-RA.
Experienced in assuring designs to NR/L2/ELP/27311 - Engineering Assurance Requirements for Design and Implementation of Electrical Power.
