We are seeking a practical, nature-loving individual to join our experienced, conservation focussed countryside team in Pembrokeshire. This permanent ranger role offers the chance to work in one of the UK's most stunning landscapes, helping to maintain and enhance our places in the south of the county to be rich in wildlife and inspiring for visitors.
Occasional weekend, bank holiday and evening work is required.

What it's like to work here:National Trust Cymru cares for some of Wales' most spectacular and culturally rich landscapes, including 60 miles of Pembrokeshire coastline and over 4,000 hectares of land. From historic sites like Iron Age forts and medieval field systems to dramatic beaches and wildlife habitats, this area is a haven for nature and heritage.
The Stackpole Estate, a Grade 1 listed designed landscape, features woodlands, wetlands, and the famous Bosherston Lakes, home to otters and water birds. The estate is bordered by dramatic limestone cliffs, dune grasslands and two outstanding beaches. While the role is based at Stackpole Estate, you'll also cover Freshwater West beach and Gupton Farm, Lydstep Headland and Lawrenny Woods. Our team of two rangers and a lead ranger work closely with local communities and partners such as Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, Natural Resources Wales and Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales. The Stackpole Centre is our main office, and our work is supported by a range of experts within the National Trust, such as Wildlife and Farming Advisors, Estate Managers and Archaeologists.
What you'll be doing:You'll help deliver landscapes rich in wildlife and visitor experiences while supporting climate action. Working mainly at Stackpole, you'll focus on woodland, coastal heath, dune grassland, reedbed, wetland and farmland conservation. Tasks include woodland management and tree safety, conservation grazing, estate maintenance and supervising volunteers. You'll use tools from hand drills to chainsaws and tractors, assist with species monitoring and support events.
In this role you'll also drive 4x4 vehicles on and off road.

comfortable using IT programmes such as Outlook, Word and Excel
a driver with a full UK driving licence
