This is a hands-on role working across

new product innovation

and enhancement, guiding projects from concept through to commercial launch, and ensuring products meet technical, market, and commercial objectives.

R&D Chemist

Responsibilities

Collaborate with in-house chemists to develop and trial advanced chemical products. Research new raw materials, formulations, and technologies to stay ahead of industry trends. Conduct competitor analysis to identify opportunities for innovation. Enhance performance and cost-effectiveness of existing products. Manage multiple product development projects, delivering within agreed timelines. Monitor product performance by engaging with customers, sales teams, and service departments. Work with production and regulatory teams to ensure compliant and timely product launches.

R&D Chemist

Requirements

Degree in chemistry or chemical engineering (or equivalent). Coatings experience highly desirable. Previous industrial experience in product development within the chemical industry advantageous. Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. Creative problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach. Confident communicator with the ability to engage at all levels. IT literate, ideally with laboratory software experience.
