Summary / Role Purpose




The R&D Engineer II contributes to the development of software and supporting systems for ConceptEV, a cloud-based electric vehicle simulation tool. In this role, the R&D Engineer II will collaborate with a team of expert professionals and use technical and problem-solving skills to understand customer requirements and accomplish development objectives. This is an excellent opportunity to bring your software skills to make a big impact in electric vehicle design and sustainable clean energy products. Please note, we require candidates to attend our offices in Wrexham, once a week.

Key Duties and Responsibilities



Perform development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systems Perform bug verification, testing and beta support Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions using a combination of software engineering skills and understanding of physical principles Participate and contribute to regular planning meetings Work in a team under the general supervision of a lead developer

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience



BSc/MSc in Physics, Maths, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 2 years of experience, or PhD with no experience Experience of software development and/or computational numerical analysis in a commercial or academic setting with the use of Python Passion for creating high-quality software solutions to multi-physics problems

Preferred Qualifications and Skills



Exposure to software development processes including automated testing and version control Strong aptitude in Physics and Mathematics Experience with cloud technologies including REST APIs Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team Knowledge of electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid topologies
