Job Summary


We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented R&D Lab Manager to lead our research and development laboratory operations. This role manages the R&D Lab within our factory. The role is primarily responsible with leading the testing and development of new products, analysing performance, and driving innovation in energy efficiency and sustainability. The position also oversees test standards, documentation, and reporting, while mentoring team members and supporting product development goals.

Key Responsibilities



Laboratory Management



Oversee daily operations of the R&D laboratory.

Maintain all lab equipment, tools, and testing facilities in optimal condition.

Develop and enforce lab safety procedures, SOPs, and compliance with industry regulations

Schedule and coordinate testing activities to meet project timelines.

Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of testing instruments (temperature chambers, environmental chambers, data loggers, pressure sensors, etc.).

Research & Development



Lead development and testing of new refrigeration technologies, systems, and components.

Work with the design team in prototyping, experimentation, and optimization.

Evaluate performance of compressors, condensers, evaporators, refrigerants, and control systems.

Analyse test results and recommend design improvements.

Drive innovation in energy efficiency, low-GWP refrigerants, thermal performance, and sustainability.

Testing & Validation



Develop and maintain test schedules, coordinating with relevant teams to prioritize testing activities.

Conduct performance testing, reliability testing, environmental testing, and failure analysis.

Validate compliance with product specifications and regulatory standards.

Work with Daikin EDC to implement Daikin test protocols wherever applicable

Leadership & Team Management



Manage and mentor lab technician.

Assign tasks and monitor team performance.

Provide technical training and growth opportunities.

Foster a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Developing Test Standards for Various Product Lines



Establish standardized testing procedures and protocols for different product lines.

Continuously evaluate and improve test standards to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.

Creating Test Reports for Lab and Field Tests



Generate comprehensive test reports documenting procedures, results, and analysis for both laboratory and field tests.

Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to interpret test data and provide insights for product improvement.

Documentation for All Product Lines (Manuals, Technical, Service Manuals)



Develop and maintain documentation for all product lines, including user manuals, technical specifications, and service manuals.

Ensure documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible for internal and external stakeholders.

Preparation of Meeting Documentation and Reporting



Coordinate the preparation of documentation and reports for Product Development Meetings (PDM), ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Compile relevant data, analysis, and presentations to facilitate discussions and decision-making during PDM meetings.

Essential



Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration Engineering, Thermal Sciences, or related field. Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and refrigeration systems. Experience managing lab teams and technical projects. Familiarity with regulatory standards Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Desirable



Proven experience in refrigeration R&D or testing Experience with low-GWP refrigerants (CO2, A2L, R290). Hands-on experience with HVAC/R systems, refrigerants, and testing tools.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 35,000.00-50,000.00 per year
