The salary for this role is 13.60 per hour. This role is based on-site at the Boots Regional Dispensing Hub located above the Boots Distribution centre on Rutherford Road, Basingstoke. The site is open Monday to Saturday from 06:00-22:00. We are looking for people who can work either 30 hours per week across 4 days or 37.5 hours per week across 5 days. The successful candidate will need to be fully flexible across the hours mentioned.
About the role
Working within the Regional Dispensing Hub, you will be responsible for providing a quick response to a variety of issues which reduce the availability of automation. To resolve these issues, you will lead the administration and reporting of engineering and maintenance requirements and the management of spare parts and consumables. To support the medicine picking operation you may be required to complete an NVQ2.
You will also:
Support with receiving maintenance, breakdown, testing and inspection visits
Lead the reporting of failures and repair requests
Lead the on-site basic repairs of equipment
Lead the administration related to repairs, maintenance and reporting
Support the team with picking and sorting medication so that it can be automated into individual customer orders
What you need to have:
Excellent communication skills
An attention to detail
Punctuality and timekeeping are important
Ability to identify and solve problems
Your safety within the workplace is paramount therefore you'll need to always work in a safe manner with the safety of colleagues in mind
It would be great if you also have:
Experience in a first fixing role would be advantageous but isn't essential
About the Regional Dispensing Hub
The Boots Regional Dispensing Hub (RDH) is an advanced, semi-automated pharmacy opening September 2025 in Basingstoke. The hub is a pharmacy and logistics hybrid operation, utilising technology and automation to centrally fill repeat prescription scripts and dispatch to our stores within 24 hours of receiving the prescription. The Basingstoke Dispensing Hub will support our stores across the region, helping our healthcare teams spend more time with their patients and offer a greater range of services to their local community.
