Qualification - Hold or willing to undertake and achieve NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care within six
months of commencing in post.
Essential Car Documentation- This post is a designated Essential Car User. Therefore, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work. You will receive the Essential Car User Allowance.
Driving Licence - The successful candidate should hold a full clean driving licence as you will be required to drive a vehicle adhering to council regulations.
DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance - this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Information provided by you or the DBS will be dealt with in a confidential manner and in accordance with the DBS Code of Practice which can be viewed . We have a policy on the Employment of Ex-Offenders and it is available upon request.
Medical Clearance - Pre-placement health assessment (PPHA)
Evidence of conduct in previous employment concerned with the provision of services relating to. Health or social care or Children or vulnerable adults

In accordance with Home Office guidance, successful candidates must evidence their right to work in the UK before commencement of employment.
This is not a role we consider to be eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route based on Manchester City Council policy. Candidates are therefore encouraged to consider their own right to work options without the requirement for Manchester City Council sponsorship.
The role holder will effectively manage a team of reablement staff, undertaking all management activities, coach staff and observe practice, evaluate performance and put in place appropriate support to ensure continual service improvement and improved outcomes for citizens.
They will manage an effective and efficient rota system that helps schedule reablement support workers visit to citizens. They will ensure, through effective capacity management, that request for reablement services are always responded to promptly, supported by real-time information on current capacity.
Assess and review health and safety issues relating to staff and customers. Identify and action solutions to minimise risk. Support the development needs of reablement support workers by ensuring all new directorate initiatives are disseminated down to them and all skills gaps are effectively addressed. The role holder will be based at Reablement South at Trafford house.
About the Candidate
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about changing the lives of Manchester residents. Someone who is a good team player with good communication skills. Someone who is able to plan and organise own time effectively creating on work schedules, prioritising, preparing in advance and setting realistic timescales for own self and others.
The candidate should be able to use IT systems to obtain and analyse data and present it effectively through a variety of ICT channels including spreadsheets.
We are looking for someone who is a good problem solver and decision-maker. Someone who has the ability to analyse situations, diagnose problems, identify the key issues, establish and evaluate alternative courses of action and produce a logical, practical and acceptable solution. Someone who is able to lead, manage and motivate staff to high levels of performance in order to achieve change and maximise staff potential and contribution to the achievement of identified organisational objectives.
Candidate should be willing to work in a social care and health care setting across the city with an understanding of relevant social care legislation.
