Reach And Counterbalance Driver

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Reach and Counterbalance Driver to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating both reach trucks and counterbalance forklifts to efficiently move, stack, load, and unload materials within our warehouse/distribution centre. This role also requires other warehouse tasks such as picking, packing, stock taking and being trained to use various production machinery.

Key Responsibilities:



Operate both Reach and Counterbalance forklifts safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve products and materials. Load and unload vehicles (HGVs, vans, etc.) in a timely and secure manner. Work accurately with warehouse management systems (WMS) or manual records to ensure correct stock rotation and inventory accuracy. Perform daily pre-shift checks on equipment and report any defects or maintenance issues promptly. Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Assist with general warehouse duties as required, including picking, packing, wrapping, and stock consolidation. Maintain a clean and organised work area. Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and other departments. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse operations. Be prepared to learn new skill to cover roles in production.

Qualifications and Experience:



Valid, in-date, and accredited licenses for both Reach Truck and Counterbalance Forklift operations (e.g., RTITB, ITSSAR, NPORS). Proof of certification will be required. Proven experience (minimum 1-2 years preferred) operating both Reach and Counterbalance trucks in a fast-paced warehouse or logistics environment. Demonstrable understanding of warehouse operations, including picking, packing, loading, and inventory control. Strong awareness of health and safety regulations and best practices. Ability to accurately complete paperwork and/or use handheld scanners/WMS systems. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
