As Vitol's developer base continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our global development community team. This role will join our existing Python community team, expanding its focus to the front-end world, specifically React.
The role aims to combine and centralize our knowledge and standards while building a strong bridge with our development, DevOps, and design teams.
We are looking for a candidate who brings both a breadth and depth of experience, from a theoretical and practical perspective; but equally someone who can and wants to continue learning.
Within the small team, everyone is expected to organise, prioritise and execute their own tasks; with a strong focus on maximising the business value from their actions. This means the individual will need to be comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously, managing competing priorities and stakeholder requirements.
The successful candidate will join a team of experienced, collaborative practitioners, who are actively solving similar challenges within the company Python space.
Together we will be pushing the boundaries around the 'art of the possible'.

Own the lifecycle around internal responsive React components while producing stable, well-documented API's for our developers.
Translate design tokens from Figma into consumable artifacts (e.g., CSS variables) and keep them in sync. Help us navigate the future of tool integrations such as Figma & MCP.
Dev Enablement:
Work closely with development teams to understand their requirements and assist in developing and improving front-end solutions. Maintain our knowledge base and effectively communicate standards.
Shared Library Development:
Help shape and develop our shared library landscape
Testing:
Set up robust testing patterns and help shape code quality gates & surrounding tooling
Innovative Guidance:
Offer innovative solutions and technical advice to enhance existing processes and find new opportunities for improvement
Platform Expertise:
Become a knowledgeable resource on Vitol's MIS platforms, helping developers integrate and use our tooling effectively
