The Role

As

Reader in Economics

on our Education, Practice/Pedagogy and Citizenship (EPC) pathway, you will provide strategic and academic leadership for this growing subject area. You will lead a strong and well established existing team in delivering a portfolio of activities that align with University Education Strategy. You will:


Shape and deliver a forward-thinking vision for Economics within the department. Lead curriculum innovation and development across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Support and mentor academic staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and high performance. Drive stakeholder engagement to enhance the subject group connectivity to the external environment. Contribute to the senior leadership team, influencing and delivering on, departmental strategy.

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking an inspiring leader with:


A strong academic profile in Economics, ideally with expertise in areas such as Economic History, Macroeconomics, or Microeconomics. Experience of academic leadership and team management within higher education. A track record of curriculum development and pedagogic innovation resulting in positive demonstrable impact. The ability to build external networks and partnerships that enhance student outcomes and impact. A commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of academic life.
