We're delighted to announce that we are now recruiting for a Technical Manager focussing on ready-mix concrete covering our Midlands area. Reporting into the Regional Technical Manager, you'll lead a team of Technical Supervisor(s) & Technicians to deliver and optimise technical process delivery across the region.

Key Responsibilities





Managing and developing a team of Technical Supervisor(s) & Technicians. Operating the FPC control systems, reporting issues and taking appropriate actions to maintain control or provide solutions/recommendations. Regularly review of KPIs to ensure achievement of objectives and targets, identify remedial actions for areas behind plan. Working with the local business team to identify opportunities to reduce costs and increase product value. Reporting and managing internal material/product issues with the relevant department and assisting with remedial actions. Providing advice and training to internal and external customers. Vetting of customer specifications. Supporting internal and external audits. Troubleshooting and investigation of customer queries/ complaints, providing satisfactory resolution.


Skills, Knowledge & Expertise





You will want to build and lead your technical team from the front; to be a trusted and visible support to the wider business. It is essential that you have experience in a technical capacity for ready-mix concrete, which will include the use of quality management and FPC systems. You will bring excellent interpersonal, strong team ethics and strong goal orientation skills with a flexible attitude and be open to change. You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to put forward strong, rational arguments, and are able to demonstrate a rational decision-making process whilst under pressure. You will be logically minded and possess excellent organisational skills and be confident dealing directly with internal and external customers on both a formal and informal level. You will also have excellent numerical skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Flexible approach to tasks and desire to work as part of a team. It would be advantageous to have attained as a minimum certificate in Concrete Technology Level 4. At least 3-5 years in a managerial or supervisory role within the technical ready-mix concrete discipline. Experience using Lastrada and CUSUM systems.
