"They are engaged, enthusiastic, and always personable." - Chambers and Partners We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Associate lawyer to join our Real Estate team, working within Osborne Clarke\'s exceptional affordable housing practise. The practice Osborne Clarke LLP have an outstanding reputation in real estate due to the quality and breadth of our client base and the value and complexity of the work we undertake. We have made a long-term investment in our real estate practice both in the UK and internationally, offering extensive expertise in residential development, regeneration, RE investment, RE funds, logistics, student accommodation, commercial development, telecommunication, utilities & energy and retail. Residential developers rely on our strong expertise to see their developments through from concept to completion. We provide comprehensive advice across the entire project lifecycle and our team operate across areas from acquisition through affordable housing, build to rent / PRS sales, site set up, management structures and infrastructure agreements to name a few. The residential development team work on a national basis across office in Bristol, Reading and London on a comprehensive range of top developments and market leading transactional work across all real estate asset classes. The practice is supplemented by strong real estate litigation, construction, planning, tax and plots / site set up departments all of which form part of a powerhouse residential development practice. Our clients We act for numerous market leading residential development clients (both PLC and SME businesses) - often on a national, multi service line panel basis. Our list of clients is impressive and includes Barratt, Vistry, Crest, Taylor Wimpey, StModwen, Places for People, Sovereign, Bloor, U&I, GLP, DTZ, Patrizia, Mirastar, M&G, PGIM, British Land and Greystar to name a few. The team The real estate department is made up of 22 Partners, 5 Legal Directors, 15 Associate Directors, 19 Senior Associates, 21 Associates, 2 Chartered Legal Executives, 1 Consultant, 10 Paralegals, 9 Trainee Solicitors and 3 Solicitor Apprentices. The team are also supported by dedicated site set-up and plots administration and conveyancing teams. In addition, the team are supported by OC Solutions - our award winning in-house legal innovations and technology team. Technical skills and experience We are looking to appoint a lawyer with extensive experience in affordable housing.Due to the growth of the business, nature of the work and structure of the team we are looking to appoint a Senior Associate in this area, however we are willing to consider candidates with more or less experience. OC\'s affordable housing practice is predominantly developer-side, along with work for larger affordable providers. Affordable housing is a key part of that practice, and the team\'s work encompasses 106 sales and additionality, along with sophisticated bulk sales arrangements (often spanning multiple sites). Recent work examples include advising a major housebuilder on their First Homes pilot funding arrangements with Homes England, and structuring an innovative shared-ownership finance structure with a well-known for-profit RP to deliver across more than 30 sites in the UK. OC frequently acts as lead advisor to our clients, and we commonly prepare or sign-off client precedents, as well as advising on key strategic issues.
