The governors of Wykeham Primary School are seeking to appoint an experienced Administrative and First Aid Officer. Responsibilities
1.1 Contribute to the planning, development and organisation of support service systems, procedures and policies.
1.2 Provide personal, administrative, organisational support to other staff.
1.3 Manage and maintain manual and computerised records and management information systems.
1.4 Undertake typing, word-processing, and complex ICT-based tasks.
1.5 To be able to operate financial recording software implemented by the school such as SIMS, Tucasi, Parent Pay, Texting service)
1.6 To manage and develop the school's Tucasi system to record and monitor all income, particularly for school clubs.
1.7 Undertake reception duties, including dealing with complex issues and visitors.
1.8 To act as a central information point, liaising sensitively and effectively with staff, pupils and visitors accessing the reception area, responding to their individual needs, and providing advice and guidance where appropriate
1.9 To deal professionally, promptly and efficiently with incoming telephone calls, directing callers to the right person, taking messages and using judgement to screen calls if necessary
1.10 Participate in training and development activities and programmes, and attend and participate in meetings as required.
1.11 Comply with, and assist with the development of, policies and procedures, and report all concerns to an appropriate person, in respect of:
child protection,
health, safety and security,
confidentiality, and
data protection.
1.12 To support the Welfare Officer in providing adequate first aid for pupils, including those with specific needs at designated times and emergencies during the school day, liaising with parents and carers as appropriate.
1.13 To complete and manage the first aid /treatment log for school record for pupils, staff and school users
1.14 To provide intimate personal care provision and support pupils towards independence of self-care.
1.15 Contribute to the school's commitment to equality of access to opportunities to learn and develop for all pupils.
Skills and Experience
a) Ability to operate a full range of specialist ICT and other resources and equipment.
b) Ability to use proficiently standard office computer software, including word-processing, spreadsheet, database, and Internet systems.
c) Ability to absorb and understand a wide range of information concerning the functions of the school.
d) Ability to build and form working relationships with pupils, parents/carers and colleagues, to work flexibly across operational boundaries, and to work as a member of a team.
2. skills
a) High level of verbal and written communication skills appropriate to the need to communicate effectively with colleagues and parents/carers.
b) Very good standard of numeracy and literacy skills.
c) The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice and information in accurate spoken English.
3. knowledge
a) Full working knowledge of relevant policies, procedures and codes of practice, and awareness of relevant legislation.
b) Knowledge to complete and manage the first aid treatment log and accident report form for school records for pupils, staff and school users
4. education and professional qualifications essential to the post
a) Level 2/3, or able to demonstrate an equivalent level of attainment through qualification or experience in a relevant discipline e.g. NVQ, GNVQ or Diploma in Business Administration
b) GCSE or equivalent in English or Maths - grade C or above
c) Willingness to undertake training as appropriate and develop skills to support the school needs
d) First aid trained or the willingness to undertake training if successful

a) Successful experience in the development, management and operation of administrative systems in a school office environment.
