Role Overview



We are seeking an experienced and motivated

Reception Manager

to lead our Front Office team at ORIDA Hotel Newbury. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring a smooth and welcoming guest experience, while effectively managing reception operations, shift scheduling, financial controls, and the Night Team.

Key Responsibilities



Team Leadership & Shift Management

Lead, motivate and support the Reception and Night Teams to deliver exceptional guest service. Manage the daily shift rota, ensuring optimum cover for day and night operations. Support team development through coaching, training, and performance reviews.

Front Office Operations

Oversee all aspects of the front desk including check-in/check-out, reservations, guest queries, and complaints. Ensure front office SOPs and brand standards are consistently met or exceeded. Maintain close coordination with Housekeeping, Maintenance, and F&B departments.

Financial Oversight

Manage all aspects of reception finance including daily banking, cash handling, invoice reconciliation, and reporting. Conduct audits and ensure compliance with financial and operational policies. Support the General Manager with budgeting and forecasting for the department.

System Management

Ensure the efficient use of

GuestLine PMS

, including training new staff and resolving technical issues. Monitor data accuracy across all reservations, billing, and guest profiles.

Requirements



Proven experience

in a similar Reception Manager or Front Office Supervisor role within a hotel environment. Strong working knowledge of

GuestLine

PMS (beneficial). Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team. Financial acumen and experience managing department budgets, cash handling, and reporting. Flexible approach to working patterns including weekends, early mornings, and night cover as needed. Ability to remain calm under pressure, with strong problem-solving skills.
