6TY is a friendly, modern salon offering a calm, welcoming experience for every client. We're growing, with treatment rooms and a relaxing vault space, and we're looking for a warm, calm and organised receptionist to be the face and key person of our front desk.
Purpose of the Role
To deliver an exceptional welcome, keep the diary running smoothly, and support the team so every client leaves feeling looked after and looks forward to returning.
Key Responsibilities
Front-of-House & Client Care
Greet clients warmly, check them in/out, offer refreshments and manage waiting areas.
Handle phonecalls, DMs and emails promptly and professionally.
Manage patch-tests and client notes in line with GDPR.
Bookings & Diary Management
Schedule and amend appointments including face to face and online, manage waiting lists and no-shows.
Coordinate therapist room allocations and turnarounds.
Manage appointments to maximise capacity.
Sales & Payments
Process payments, gift vouchers, deposits and reward/point cards and complete daily cash-up.
Recommend add-ons/retail and support promotions to maximise sales.
Keep retail displays tidy, stocked and priced.
Operations & Admin
Maintain salon standards (clean, calm, stocked).
Place stock orders and manage deliveries.
Manage the laundry and other in-salon requirements.
Marketing Support
Capture photos/videos (before/after, promos) for social posts.
Encourage reviews and manage feedback follow-up.
Support in-salon events/open days (meet & greet, prize draws).
Compliance & Safety
Follow salon policies (H&S, patch testing, GDPR, safeguarding of young clients).
Protect confidentiality at all times and flag any concerns to the management team.
Skills & Experience
Essential
Confident, friendly communicator with a calm, can-do manner.
Organised and good multitasker; thrives in a busy environment.
Accurate with cash handling and experienced with POS systems and equipment.
Comfortable using salon booking software (training provided).
Reliable timekeeper
Desirable
Reception or retail experience (beauty/hair/hospitality ideal).
Familiar with Phorest software (or similar).
Social media aware; happy creating simple content.
Qualifications
Good general education (National 5 or equivalent).
Right to work in the UK. References required.
