Job Description

Cramond Residence provides a unique combination of luxury accommodation and the highest quality of care. As well as specialising in residential care, we offer specialist and individually tailored Respite, Recuperation and Dementia Care provision.

Key Responsibilities



Welcome all visitors to Cramond Residence courteously, determine the reason for their visit and check their identity before notifying and appropriate staff member

Ensure the reception area is presentable at all times

Answer the telephone & respond to all enquiries at reception.

Re-direct enquiries appropriately in a friendly efficient manner

Provide administrative support to the General Manager & Administrator, as & when required.

Process documentation on a daily, weekly or monthly basis

Operate office equipment such as fax, photocopier & computer when required

Maintaining the visitors register in line with Company policy

In conjunction with the Administrator, ensure accurate filing systems are maintained.

To ensure mail is distributed correctly

Oversee the cafeteria area & clear away cups and dishes as required

Health and safety



Ensure you work in a safe environment in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act.

Assist in the maintenance of a safe working environment by understanding & adhering to Cramond Residence Health & Safety Policy & procedures including fire

Practice & promote safe working practices within the home

Be fully aware & comply with infection control policies & procedures,

Take responsibility for own health & safety & that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions

Report to the General Manager or Maintenance person any faults, damaged furniture, faulty appliances, equipment & potential hazards

Report immediately to the General Manager, or person in charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a resident, colleague, self or other

Promote & ensure the good reputation of Cramond Residence as well as the Company

Greet visitors in a friendly, welcoming manner & be able to answer the telephone politely

Wear an identification badge at all times.

Wear correct uniform & keep a smart and tidy appearance.

Understand your duty to whistle blow if you witness bad practice or harm to a resident within Cramond Residence

Ensure that all information of a confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to a third parties

Attend & participate in staff/ resident meetings & all mandatory training

Undertake ongoing learning & professional development as necessary, in order to maintain high standards in the quality of work, as outlined in this job description

Attend & participate in supervision and appraisal process

Communicate effectively with other staff, relatives & visitors including professional agencies regarding residents & work in a collaborative way

Ensure that you are familiar with all company policies & procedures & understand your duty to comply & implement then when necessary

Oversee the function of the cafeteria and keep this tidy, remove dirty dishes & keep well presented

Undertake any other duties within the scope of this job description

Shift Pattern



A balanced schedule with four working days per week from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM (1 hour lunch), every second weekend off, and only one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) required on alternating weekends

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.45 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
