The Post
The College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and hardworking Receptionist to join the Student Services Department to provide Reception services and general administrative support for the Student Services, Admissions and other College Departments.
The successful applicant will be required to answer calls and take face-to-face queries from students, parents, and other external bodies. The post holder will also provide assistance in all areas relating to Student Services and Admissions and present a welcoming and professional presence and appearance for all staff, students, parents, governors and visitors. Other duties will include franking the post, issuing College IDs for students and staff, receiving deliveries, take in lost property, assist with student travel advice, take in coursework, and liaise with staff concerning student absence. The post holder will also assist with examinations as required.
The post is available on a permanent, part-time basis. The post holder will be required to work term-time, plus a week in the College holidays (week prior to the start of term at the end of August). The hours of work are from 8.00am to 5.00pm, Monday
The post holder will be the first point of contact for visitors and as such, must be excellent ambassadors for the College. The post requires a flexible approach to working and the ability to multi-task effectively. An excellent telephone manner and effective people skills are essential for the role. The role includes a requirement to be a nominated College First Aider and to deal with incidents as required.
You will be required to attend our 3 Open Evenings in the autumn term for which additional payment will be given.
Department
Reception is located within the Student Services Department in the Langham Building. During the majority of the working day two Receptionists staff the area. However, additional staff from Student Services assist during peak times. The staff work closely in a flexible manner to ensure that this busy area is effectively operated.
