Job Summary



We are seeking a friendly, professional, and adaptable

Receptionist

to join our practice team. This role is central to ensuring a smooth patient experience, offering support both in person and over the phone. You will provide front-of-house services, administrative support, and help maintain effective communication between patients, clinicians, and other healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities



Receptionists may be expected to carry out a variety of tasks, which can change depending on practice needs. Duties include but are not limited to:

Opening/closing procedures and ensuring practice security. Greeting patients, managing appointments, visits, and telephone consultations. Directing patients to the appropriate services or healthcare professionals. Handling incoming and outgoing post, emails, and practice notes. Taking and relaying messages accurately. Maintaining patient records through data entry and document filing. Processing repeat prescriptions in line with practice protocols. Assisting with consulting room preparation and restocking. Booking patient transport as required. Registering new patients in accordance with protocols. Assisting with practice housekeeping (e.g., kitchen duties, tidiness). Acting as a chaperone when trained (training provided). Supporting clinical staff and colleagues with general administrative tasks.

Follow practice health & safety and infection control procedures. Report hazards and risks promptly. Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free environment. Undertake regular training (minimum annually) in infection control and safeguarding.
