Provide clinical administrative support for the practice team.
Provide the administrative support necessary for dealing with patients appropriately and processingtheir requirements with complete accuracy in accordance with requests received from the practiceteam and/or agreed practice pathways.
Act as a point of reference for our receptionists in meeting the needs of our practice team and our patients.
Support the development and improve the knowledge and skills of our receptionists where this is safe and appropriate.
Facilitate patients accessing the clinical care provided by the practice according to their needs.
Support the primary healthcare team in providing that care according to Archway Medical Centre procedures, processes and protocols.
Understand the need for and maintain complete confidentiality at all times without exception.
Dealing with patient queries and other contacts in order to safely minimise the clinical workload wherever possible, Supporting the receptionists with escalated and complex patient queries including prescription queries.
Checking for outstanding work and making sure no tasks are overlooked or requests/documents are left unprocessed when practice team members are absent.
Open and distribute the post.
Taking responsibility for all outgoing post to be sent in a timely manner bearing the correct postage in order to avoid all unnecessary delays in post leaving the practice.
Work under pressure with minimal supervision, safely use initiative with the ability to prioritise and also recognise when to ask for information or help.
Maintain total confidentiality at all times
All other responsibilities and tasks not listed here that relate to this post and the smooth running of the practice and/or contribute to role and/or service development at work
Receiving and completing all requests from the practice team
Chasing test results, patient-related documentation and information
Completing referrals Generating letters, sick notes and other documentation from information held on the clinical system or at the request of a member of the practice healthcare team
Emailing, messaging, phoning and otherwise contacting patients on behalf of the practice team to support two-way communication between our clinicians and our patients.
Supporting the investigation of patient complaints.
Troubleshooting for the practice team wherever necessary eg when referrals are rejected.
From time to time, it may be necessary to cover the duties of a receptionist as follows Start work on time by being on site and ready, logged on to the clinical and phone systems as part of the team.
