Please note we are open from 8:00am - 6:30pm.

If you are not able to start at 8:00am or work until 6:30pm please do not apply for this position.

This vacancy is for 37.5 hours per week you will need to be flexible to cover annual leave and staff sickness, which could involve working a split shift..

We are looking for someone with excellent attention to detail and who is proactive to join our team. If you're right for us you will have a can do attitude, be flexible and a great multitasker. We need someone who is able to perform under pressure as this is a fast paced Receptionist/Administrator role.

We are seeking someone who; amongst other things, is an efficient, empathetic communicator who is able to talk with patients, teammates and outside agencies face to face and over the phone. Is self-motivated, well organised and a great time keeper. Has a good standard of education including Math and English. Previous experience of computer based systems and software packages such as EMIS, Docman, Excel and Word are desirable

Duties and responsibilities:



The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the practice administration team may include any or all of the items in the following list. Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the Practice Manager/ Office Managers dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels:

Booking appointments on behalf of our patients on EMIS Medical system Booking patients in on the appointments screens and maintaining patient flow To ensure telephone is answered quickly and efficiently, our ideal standard being within 3 rings. Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations, and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional Taking messages and passing on information using our EMIS tasks system Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures Scanning hospital letters and other documents Checking Communications email on a daily basis and passing to appropriate member of the team Playing your part as a member of the practice team in keeping the Reception area/Admin area and overall practice premises tidy. Any other duties deemed appropriate to your job role, by the Practice Manager / Office Managers GP Partners

Information relating to patients, carers, colleagues, other healthcare workers or the business of the practice may only be divulged to authorised persons in accordance with the practice policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and the protection of personal and sensitive data.

The post-holder will assist in promoting and maintaining their own and others' health, safety and security as defined in the practice health & safety policy, and the practice infection control policy and published procedures. This will include:

Using personal security systems within the workplace according to practice guidelines Identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks Making effective use of training to update knowledge and skills Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way, free from hazards Actively reporting health and safety hazards and infection hazards immediately when recognised to the Governance & Training Manager Keeping own work areas and general/patient areas generally clean, assisting in the maintenance of general standards of cleanliness consistent with the scope of the job holder's role Undertaking periodic infection control training in-house training and complying with the contents of the practice infection control Demonstrate due regard for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults
