We are seeking a highly organised Medical Receptionist/ Administrator to join our small, busy but friendly team. As the first point of contact for patients, the Medical Receptionist plays a crucial role in providing excellent service for our patients. Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Verify patient information and update records as necessary
- Answer phone calls and respond to enquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the reception area
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and other staff members to ensure efficient workflow
- Complete clinical forms prior to patients' appointments to support the GP in running efficient clinics - this may be either in person with the patient or over the phone
- Support the GP to make referrals to hospital departments such as SDEC, A&E and helping arrange patient transport, ambulances etc
- Arrange follow up appointments at the GP's request & support in the clinical management of patients to ensure a smoother process for our patients
- Review any documents sent in by patients and make sure the relevant information is brought to the GP's attention & code information in the patient records
- Undertake general medical administrative duties
Skills:
- Reliable, discreet, compassionate, caring and want to help make a difference
- Strong administrative skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred but not essential
