Central Park Surgery is an NHS organisation. We have very good and stable clinical team of 2 partners, 1 salaried GP, nurses and HCA. Our proactive approach is reflected on our achievements and also our engagement in Havering North Primary Care Network. We are currently looking to recruit to the following position on a permanent contract, to work Monday to Friday. We have great supportive team, efficient and experienced leadership all working in very pleasant environment.

Duties
1) Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the Practice.
2) Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments.
3) Using your own judgment and communication skills ensure that patients with no prior appointment but who need urgent consultation are seen in a logical and non-disruptive manner.
4) Explain Practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover and ensure procedures are completed.
5) Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery.
6) Enter requests for home visits into the home visits book, ensuring careful recording of all relevant details and where necessary refer to Duty Doctor.
7) Action repeat prescription requests and ensure that they are ready for collection by the patient within 48 hours, in line with Practice protocol.
8) Take action on clinicians' requests for further information/patient contact information etc. (including computerised Practice notes), ensuring completion of all associated paperwork.
9) Advise patients of relevant charges for private (non-General Medical Services) services, accept payment and issue receipts for same.
10) Enter patient information on to the computer as required.
11) Prepare clinical rooms for surgeries, supply prescription forms and record numbers in use and ensure adequate supplies of consumables (including bottles, couch rolls, test request forms etc.).
12) You are required to assist the practice manager in any tasks they need to complete.
Admin:
1) Communication - To act as a communication link for the reception and admin teams, ensuring all staff
are updated appropriately - Including Practice Alerts; Notice Board updates, Template Changes etc
2) Rota's - To assist with creating and coordinating Staff Rota's, holiday and sick cover. Finding solutions
to rota gaps through key personnel contacts.
3) Training - To co-ordinate training time with Rota's, to help identify training needs and provide
mentoring or where appropriate source training through the Business Manager.
4) Prescription Governance - To assist with Prescription Governance Including resolution, logging and
destruction of error prescriptions; Audits; Security etc
5) Process Improvement - to be proactive in identifying opportunities for change and improvement.
Working with the Manager and Business Manager to enable appropriate change.
6) Support - To support the Site Manager and Business Manger as required.
7) Escalations - To support the team with resolving detailed / timely queries, patient concerns etc
8) Patient Services - To assist with Enhanced Services, New Patient Services and QOF. Including coordinating activity lists, recall activities, patient letters, appointments and processes.
9) Co-ordinate appointments requests and triaging patients effectively.
10) Dealing with all patients needs including prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines including repeats, queries, controlled procedures and validating patient identification
11) To assist and manage the receptionists and showing general organisation skills to maintain efficiency of the office.
12) To produce Reports, Registrations, Recalls, Links, Process reviews, Letter writing, Faxing, Scanning, Read Coding, Auditing
13) To ensure accurate monitoring of patient records including, recording appointments, registration and removal of patients, change of address, correspondence sent / received, service provider updates

8. Experience of working in a public reception environment.
9. Experience of Microsoft Office software. Experience of dealing with the public and/or patients.
