Children's Services - Fostering Finance Team
with a range of administrative and financial tasks.
This role is
office-based
and requires someone with strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and confidence using IT systems and handling sensitive information.
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday:
8:30am - 5:00pm
Friday:
8:30am - 4:30pm
(1-hour lunch break each day)
Key Responsibilities
Provide a professional reception service by answering calls, greeting visitors, and managing front-desk queries.
Record and manage incoming and outgoing mail using relevant spreadsheets.
Arrange travel bookings including taxis, trains, and buses.
Book and confirm accommodation for staff as required.
Assist with processing and reconciling credit card spends.
Update records accurately on the
CareFirst Client Record System
.
Support invoice processing and other finance-related administration.
Manage
pool car
and
room bookings
efficiently.
Attend the local post office for mail services when required.
Assist with archiving, scanning, printing, and other general administrative duties.
Support the
Fostering Finance Team
with maintaining payment databases, processing authorisations, and liaising with carers regarding payments.
Provide backup support to the wider administration and fostering teams as required.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organisational and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail.
Confident using computers, databases, and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to manage sensitive information confidentially and professionally.
Customer-focused approach with a positive and professional attitude.
Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and workloads.
Desirable
Experience within a local authority, social care, or finance administration environment.
Knowledge of fostering, children's services, or CareFirst systems.
Experience maintaining financial or database records.
Pre-Employment Requirements
Enhanced DBS Check Required (Children and Adults).
Proof of Right to Work in the UK.
Satisfactory employment references.
