We are seeking an organised and enthusiastic receptionist/ legal secretary to join our busy and friendly legal team. The ideal candidate will provide essential administrative support to the lawyers in the firm and assist in the smooth running of our legal practice. This role requires good communication skills, proficiency in typing and use of a computer and the ability to manage time effectively while handling multiple tasks. The secretarial side of this role is likely to be primarily within our residential conveyancing department, but flexibility will be expected of the candidate (with training) to assist in other areas as and when required.
Responsibilities
Answering the telephone. Taking and distributing detailed telephone messages.
Greeting clients and other professionals visiting the office
Collecting and distributing the post, document exchange letters and printing
Organising and updating the office diary
Preparing standard legal documents and correspondence
Organising files and correspondence
Carrying out photocopying, scanning and filing
Applying for standard searches
Updating clients, agents and other parties in transactions by telephone and e-mail
Keeping reception areas neat and tidy
Making tea and coffee
Retrieving archiving from the office archive and updating archive databases
Training in the various aspects of the role would be provided for the right candidate.
