Record Expert Online Second Hand Record Store

Taunton, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Do you collect vinyl records, have a passion for music, or are you just curious about the little details in the world?

We're looking for someone with (preferably) an interest in all of the above who is looking for a position at a growing business, led by a small and passionate team. You'll become (if you're not already) a record expert and get to know vinyl in intimate detail.

You'll be involved at every stage in the process records go through in preparation for listing across our sales channels. This includes inputting key data into our software, buying collections, grading & photographing records, and picking/packing orders. You'll also be connecting with our customers through social media channels, blogs and customer service channels.

About Us

We are an online second-hand record retailer, currently working on expanding and improving all elements of our business. With over 100,000 orders under our belt, we are one of the most popular second-hand record retailers in the country and are seeking someone new to join our team.

Our systems are technology led, optimised for speed and efficiency, whilst giving our customers accurate and valuable information about the records they are buying. We use technology to bring music to the people who love it most.

The business has been built on a foundation of quality and honesty - there are a lot of known issues with buying records online, and we want to change that by taking care of our records and by giving every customer the best experience possible. That means honest record gradings, well-packed parcels and outstanding customer service.

Your tasks will involve any combination of:

Using our Processing system to enter details of records for us to grade and sell Cleaning and grading records - both visually and audibly Facilitating record collection purchases Photographing records for our online listings Order picking & packing Customer service
Whilst prior knowledge about records and music isn't essential for this position, a fascination with it would be very useful. You should be excited to learn and develop your understanding of the history of music and vinyl, with all the technicalities that come with it.

You should have a keen eye for detail, but also be able to weigh up when to prioritise efficiency over being perfect, as productivity is tracked, reviewed and targets set.

Required Skills

Good knowledge of using a computer and data entry, including Excel. Ability to communicate effectively and positively with customers to ensure they receive the best experience and deliver outstanding customer service. Being detail-oriented, curious, and excited to keep learning. Ability to work efficiently and meet productivity targets. Work harmoniously in a small, ambitious team.

Please upload a CV & short cover letter/summary (100 words)
