About the Team

This is part of our Global Collections team, who work to a hybrid model of 3 days at home a week and 2 days a week in our vibrant Manchester Office in the ever-desirable area of Spinningfields, Manchester City Centre. Our newly refurbished offices host a friendly yet professional environment where successful candidates can develop and grow.

Our Global Collections team provide support to our business customers, managing accounts with a strong focus on mitigation of losses, cash collection, and aged debt clearance.

This role manages a portfolio of customers which have become insolvent or managing them through the insolvency process. The team will have contact with both merchants and Insolvency Practitioners to discuss strategies for recovering any losses.

What you will be doing

You\xe2\x80\x99ll be part of a high performing, fast-paced team who triage internal and external notifications identifying merchants who may become insolvent. Working across multiple platforms with the aim of risk management and loss reduction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage several processes linked with Insolvency of customers with the aim of mitigating risk and reducing debt exposure
  • Monitor and progress a portfolio of insolvent merchants
  • Liaise with solvent and insolvent merchants, Insolvency practitioners, solicitors, and other 3rd parties as and when required
  • Work in partnership with Credit and Collections teams to identify merchants in distress, prior to going into administration
  • Accountable for the consistent performance of assigned Recoveries processes in meeting and exceedingly daily, weekly and monthly objectives
  • Review of processes on a regular basis to drive a culture of continuous improvement and growth
  • Provide analytical views based on data and trends that drive informed decisions and strategy
  • To advise merchants and / or internal stakeholders on recoveries matters to improve merchant payment behaviours
  • Reconciliation of related debtor account(s)
  • Attendance at Creditors Meetings and meetings with Insolvency Practitioners as required
  • Logging and updating queries/incident status
What you will bring
  • Previous experience of working in a recoveries and/or credit monitoring/collections environment
  • Analysing financial and business reports then summarising appropriately
  • Experience of having challenging conversations with external clients / merchants, whilst delivering exceptional customer service
Great if you have
  • Insolvency Qualifications (CPI or ACCA)
  • Experience working in a regulated company following the FCA, DPA, TCF & Banking Code Regulations.
  • Understanding around the BACS rules
