Duties

Safely operate various types of vehicles, including flatbed lorries, for the transportation of goods. Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrivals. Load and unload cargo with care, adhering to safety protocols. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure roadworthiness. Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered. Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs. Assist in warehouse activities as needed, including stock organisation and inventory management. Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies during driving operations.

Requirements

Proven experience in commercial driving, including delivery driver roles. Valid driver's licence suitable for operating the specific vehicle type, such as a driver licence or equivalent. Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks. Experience with flatbed transport is desirable. Strong communication skills for liaising with team members and clients professionally. Previous warehouse experience is advantageous for understanding loading procedures and inventory management. Knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards within the UK. Ability to work independently, demonstrating organisational skills and reliability.
