About the Role

The Recovery worker role is a flexible, multi-skilled role providing direct emotional wellbeing and practical support to individuals to improve their mental health and wellbeing. Working with people on a 1-2-1 or group basis, in people's homes and communities, the support worker will work with individuals to identify their strengths, issues and goals. They encourage individuals to recognise and use their existing strengths, facilitate building new skills to build momentum in independent living skills, self-management, personal recovery and building capacity. Assessing individual's' strengths and needs, the support worker will link people with meaningful supports within their community.

This work is about helping people to live well and achieve the things in life that really matter to them. We have a role available working across our 24/7 care at home, housing support and specialist mental health outreach service. These services are commissioned by Dundee Council and support people living with severe and enduring mental health issues and common co-morbidities, such as neurodevelopmental conditions, to live fulfilled lives and achieve their goals. This exciting opportunity will use recovery focussed interventions, supporting people to develop skills and positive support networks towards living an independent life in the community. Our services operate 7 days a week and as such, the post will involve a variety of shift patterns, including evening, waking night and weekend work.
