The Recruitment Assistant will provide administrative and operational support to the Recruitment Manager in delivering effective recruitment across the College. The role will help ensure a smooth, professional, and timely recruitment and onboarding process for candidates and hiring managers.

The Recruitment Assistant will play a key supporting role in enabling the Recruitment Manager to deliver strategic recruitment outcomes, while ensuring that day-to-day processes run efficiently and professionally.

This is a great opportunity to build your skills in recruitment, develop your understanding of hiring processes, and gain insight into how a busy in-house HR team attracts, selects, and supports staff across the organisation. You'll play an important part in helping to bring new talent into the College while supporting wider HR activity.

This is a full-time, permanent role, based at the Arts Centre on Myrtle Street.

Key Responsibilities





Coordinate recruitment activities across the full recruitment lifecycle, including advertising vacancies, managing applications, scheduling interviews, and preparing correspondence. Act as a first point of contact for recruitment queries from candidates, managers, and external partners, ensuring clear and professional communication. Maintain accurate recruitment records, systems, and documentation to support compliance with statutory requirements and best practice. Assist in the preparation of recruitment materials, such as job packs, adverts, and onboarding documentation. Provide regular updates and reports to the Recruitment Manager to monitor progress and inform decision-making. Contribute to the delivery of an excellent candidate experience, helping the College attract and retain high-quality staff. Collaborate with the Recruitment Manager and Heads of School to manage the bank worker pipeline, ensuring effective placement and timely fulfilment of staffing needs. Support the promotion of the College's values of diversity, equity, and inclusion through fair and consistent recruitment practices. Ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of information held within the office and comply with data protection protocols and relevant policies as appropriate. Undertaking other recruitment related duties as required

Professional Practice and Values

Actively contribute to the College Group's mission and values, ensuring these principles are effectively implemented in all areas of College life. Take proactive responsibility for maintaining a safe working environment by upholding Health & Safety standards and ensuring safe working practices at all times. Ensure compliance with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). Provide support for cross-college activities, especially during key periods such as enrolment and invigilation. Perform any other duties relevant to the College's needs, as appropriate to the role and grade.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise



Essential

At least one year's administrative experience, ideally within HR or recruitment. Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively. Strong administrative and organisational skills, with experience managing schedules, correspondence, and records. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally. Confident in using recruitment systems, applicant tracking software, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and compliance. Professional and approachable, with the ability to build positive relationships at all levels. Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and demands. Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A team player with a supportive and collaborative approach. Previous administrative experience, ideally within HR, recruitment, or a customer service environment

Desirable

Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience. Understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace. Fluent in any of the following languages: Arabic, Persian, Kurmanji (Northern Kurdish), Sorani (Central Kurdish), Portuguese, Spanish, Tigrinya, Vietnamese, French.
