Team Leader and Team Member - Recycling Outreach Initiative
We are looking for experienced and motivated individuals to join our team in a borough-wide initiative promoting recycling and encouraging sustainable living. This is a minimum three-month role with the possibility to extend. Shifts are flexible, and the successful candidates will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities and making a meaningful impact on the environment.
Team Leader Responsibilities:
As a Recycling Outreach Team Leader, you will oversee a small team of door knockers, ensuring they meet targets, stay motivated, and work efficiently throughout the campaign. You will play a pivotal role in leading your team and providing the necessary support to engage with residents effectively. Your primary duties will include:
Leading and motivating a team of Recycling Outreach Team Members.
Ensuring the team meets its targets for outreach, education, and feedback collection.
Engaging with residents yourself, educating them on how to use their recycling bins correctly.
Collecting brief feedback via a digital survey.
Supporting team members with any challenges they face during outreach.
Reporting back to the Outreach Supervisor and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations.
Ensuring that all team members adhere to safety and operational guidelines.
Team Member Responsibilities:
As a Recycling Outreach Team Member, you will be at the heart of our community outreach efforts. Your main responsibilities will include:
Engaging with households via door-knocking to educate residents on the importance of recycling and how to recycle properly.
Providing clear, simple guidance on how to use recycling bins effectively.
Encouraging positive recycling behaviors and answering any questions from residents.
Collecting brief feedback via a digital survey to help us improve recycling services.
Reporting any issues or challenges to your team leader or Outreach Supervisor.
Working collaboratively with your team to ensure all areas are covered and outreach goals are met.
Key Qualities:
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and educate residents.
Environmentally conscious and passionate about sustainability.
Positive attitude and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Comfortable with using digital tools to collect and report feedback.
