PES currently holds and manages contracts on behalf of the primary eye care network, spanning ~70 NHS commissioners and delivering over 380,000 episodes of patient care each year, with a total annual turnover of ~25+ million. Role Overview:
Referral Management Clerks play an important role in supporting our Operations team. They are responsible for performing essential day-to-day tasks related a number of key areas:
NHS Telemedicine Services: Referral Management Clerks will be responsible for managing incoming and outgoing telephone referrals via our Referral Management Centre.
NHS Single Point of Access Referral Management: Referral Management Clerks are also be responsible for managing referrals to the NHS Single Point of Access, which is a system designed to streamline the referral process for healthcare providers.
Service and Patient Support: Referral Management Clerks provide support to patients and healthcare providers in managing referrals, answering questions, and addressing concerns. In addition they support with the management of email or phone communication with patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders
General Operations Support: Referral Management Clerks also provide general operational support to the Operations team, such as data entry, record keeping, and other administrative tasks as required.
Referral Management Clerks are a versatile and critical part of the company's operations, playing a key role in managing referrals and supporting various aspects of the business.
General Responsibilities:
NHS Telemedicine Services : Coordinating and scheduling appointments for patients who have been referred into the organisation via telephone , email or internal processes.
NHS Single Point of Access Referral Management: This involves receiving, processing, and tracking referrals from healthcare providers, patients, and other sources including the NHS Electronic Referral Service [ERS]. Communicating with patients and healthcare providers to obtain necessary information and ensure that referrals are processed in a timely and efficient manner.
General Operations Support: Duties and responsibilities where necessary to meet the needs of the directorate and wider organisation.
Additional Responsibilities
Failsafe: Ensuring that referrals are accurately actioned and following our system for tracking referrals and appointments.
Customer service: Providing excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers, and resolving any issues or concerns that arise.
Data Management: Entering data into computer systems and generating reports related to referral activity.
Reporting: Support the feedback and reporting processes of the organisation

Shift Pattern:
This is a full-time position, working 35 hours per week over 5 days (Monday to Friday, ad hoc Saturdays as needed). The hours for these shifts are set from 9am to 5pm.

Qualifications:
Minimum 5 GCSE's (Including English and Mathematics) / equivalent (Essential)
Experience:
Excellent interpersonal (Essential)
Ability to work independently (Essential)
Excellent IT Skills (MS Office applications in particular (Essential)
Experience of working from home and time management (Desirable)
