Refinery Process Operator - Humber Refinery
We are looking for our next class of Operators to join us at the Humber Refinery. As an Operator you will work independently and with colleagues to maintain and operate equipment and processes, adjusting and monitoring plant equipment to set targets.
We have provisional start dates for this position in September 2025 and January 2026.

Responsibilities Include
To achieve best in class operating performance in a safe reliable environment.
Demonstrating awareness and commitment to safety
Maintaining equipment and operations, executing basic mechanical and preventative maintenance as required.
Taking samples/readings of various process streams
Monitoring and observing assigned area for abnormal conditions and emergency situations and problem solving.
Participating in safety reviews
Initiating work orders and permitting for work related to the assigned unit.
Maintaining proper and safe process operations of the operating equipment
Serving on the emergency response fire brigade, rescue team, and 2nd responder team
Participating in annual training refreshers
Upholding company values, understanding and implementing all relevant company policies and procedures to ensure all work meets the required standard
The role will also require adaptability and flexibility as you may be required to work in different areas of the department and plant.
Position Requirements
Must have at least 4 GCSEs/'O' Levels at Grade A-C (new grades 5 plus) two of which must be in Math's and English or equivalent higher qualification. (Should you progress to interview stage you will be asked to provide proof that you have met the required education requirements, so must be able to produce originals of your examination certificates. Should you need to order replacement certificates they can take up to 4 weeks to arrive.)
Full, current, valid UK drivers' licence

Commitment to high safety standards
Work rotating 12 hours shifts which includes working weekends and bank holidays. Please note specific periods of training may be days based.
Understand and follow both written and verbal instructions given in English
Worked with and experience of computer systems
Work in confined spaces i.e., tanks and silos, near large, hot, high-speed machines and products under high pressure or temperature
Work around chemicals, including acids and bases
Wear PPE such as protective footwear, ear/eye protection and breathing apparatus
Remove facial hair (as required) so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly
Perform emergency response duties as a 2nd responder, which will include attending our fire school in Texas, USA. All course costs and travel will be paid for by the Company.
Work outside in all weather conditions
Take and successfully pass the City & Guilds 0610 Level 3 qualification in Process Operations as requested for the position (If not already completed on starting). Coursework will be carried out in your own time and as part of role, but all course fees will be paid for by the Company.
