Job Description


As a Recycling Driver, you will play a crucial role in the collection and transportation of recyclable materials in and around Keynsham.

Your responsibilities will include:

Collection and Sorting: Driving the recycling vehicle to designated locations for the collection of recyclable materials such as paper, plastic, glass, and metal. Sorting and separating recyclable items as per company guidelines.

Loading and Unloading: Safely and efficiently loading and unloading recyclable materials onto the vehicle, ensuring proper weight distribution and adherence to health and safety regulations.

Route Planning and Navigation: Planning efficient routes to maximize collection productivity. Utilizing navigation tools to navigate through Bicester and surrounding areas while adhering to traffic rules and regulations.

Vehicle Maintenance: Performing routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks. Reporting any mechanical faults or issues promptly to ensure the vehicle\xe2\x80\x99s safety and reliability.

Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service by maintaining a professional and courteous attitude towards customers and members of the public. Addressing any queries or concerns related to recycling and waste management.

Documentation and Reporting: Completing necessary paperwork, including collection records, route sheets, and incident reports. Reporting any abnormalities or incidents encountered during the collection process.

Health and Safety: Adhering to all health and safety regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe working practices. Reporting any health and safety concerns to the supervisor.

Continuous Improvement: Actively seeking opportunities for process improvement and suggesting innovative ideas to enhance the recycling and waste management operations.

Requirements:

  • To have a Class C license with no bans for drink/drugs, tacho card and CPC card.
  • Proven experience as a driver, preferably in waste management or recycling.
  • Knowledge of recycling practices and waste management regulations.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Physically fit with the ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends or overtime when required.
  • A positive attitude towards environmental sustainability.
