SLR is excited to be recruiting an experienced regenerative agriculture consultant to join our natural capital and nature team. This will be a lead role between to develop SLR\'s service offering in the regenerative agriculture sector. The role is expected to sit at one of SLR\'s following grades: Associate, Principal or Technical Director.

SLR supports businesses in understanding their interface with nature, developing science-based strategies and actions to drive change and to meet the increasing requirement to report, disclose and demonstrate a positive engagement with nature. Ultimately, our wider aim is to be a significant part of the drive for real change that brings about the protection and enhancement of all components of nature.

SLR recognizes that agriculture is one of the most area extensive land-uses globally and therefore has significant influence on nature, with current practices leaving huge potential for improvement in outcomes for nature and society. Via advising on the adoption of regenerative agricultural practices SLR sees significant opportunities for us to support our clients in achieving substantial improvements in terms of agricultural resilience, soil and water ecosystem services and biodiversity, on client\'s sites and within their supply chains.

This role provides a unique opportunity for a purpose driven, collaborative regenerative farming professional to have real impact on the design and delivery of improved farming practices at sites across the globe. While the role is advertised in the UK we will consider applications within the EU including remote working.

The successful candidate will have access to expertise and collaboration from a wide range of technical disciplines including biodiversity, hydrology, land remediation, carbon, climate modelling and ESG / sustainability advisory services.

You should be a specialist in regenerative agriculture or similar with experience of working on a wide range of projects from a consultancy perspective. You should be able to demonstrate substantial experience of project and budget management, team building, interdisciplinary collaboration, and business development.

What you will do:

In this leadership role you will provide strategic advice on the development of our regenerative agriculture service offering with the ultimate aim of developing a core team of regenerative agriculture experts supported by SLRs other technical disciplines. You will additionally be advising clients on opportunities for regenerative agriculture and delivering associated projects. Day to day activity will include:

  • Managing and overseeing projects and taking responsibility for regenerative agriculture outputs for a range of different clients.
  • Preparation of fee proposals, report writing and technical review of regenerative agriculture outputs.
  • Developing SLR\'s regenerative agriculture business and building the team to support this growth.
  • Supervision and mentoring of a regenerative agriculture team including training as it develops.
  • Communicating with clients and SLR staff in other disciplines the importance of regenerative agriculture practices, guidance and policy in the UK and internationally.
  • Seeking opportunities through coordinated business development to expand regenerative agriculture and other services and capabilities.

About you:
  • A passion for regenerative agriculture an ability to communicate this to clients and colleagues.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading regenerative agriculture teams and projects assessments.
  • Demonstrable experience of regenerative agriculture farm assessments, design and implementation.
  • Knowledge of regenerative agriculture guidance and policy at national and international levels including relevant legislation.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including a track record of interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Proven capabilities in wining and delivering projects,
  • Team management, supervision, mentoring and growth.
  • Experience of assisting with client supply chain analysis to identify key opportunities for regenerative agriculture- desirable.
  • Relevant post graduate degree level qualification or equivalent.
  • Full drivers licence.
