THE ROLE

This is a new role offering an exciting opportunity for an Elim minister to join the Regents team as our Ministry Practice Coordinator working to recruit and support students in fulfilling their ministry. The postholder will play a key role in ensuring our students have excellent opportunities to develop and enrich their ministry practice whilst studying at Regents and proceed into ministry opportunities beyond their studies. The role is initially offered on a part time basis and would suit a bi-vocational Elim minister. We are looking for a team player, who can build a wide range of relationships across Elim and other movements with the aim of assisting in the development of future and existing Christian ministers and leaders.

Key Duties and Responsibilities



Undergraduate Placements



Work with the Undergraduate Dean and Spiritual Formation Director (Youth Ministry Leader) who oversee our Undergraduate students' education and experience at Regents.

Establish meaningful placements for our UG students in Elim and other local churches and parachurch or educational contexts. This will involve building effective relationships with Elim, other ministers and ministry leaders to ensure a wide range of relevant placement experiences are available to our students. For example, in churches, chaplaincy (hospitals, hospices and prisons) and local charities.

Responsible for oversight and enhancement of placement approval and management process:

o Annual review and update of placement handbook.

o Improve efficiency of placement approval process, including development of electronic access to and completion of forms by placement supervisors on central platform.

o Handling student and supervisor queries in relation to placements.

o Act as mediator and final arbiter in relation to unresolved disputes between student and supervisor.

Ensure Regents and Elim policy is followed appropriately. For example, adherence to Safeguarding policy or procedures relating to the reimbursement of expenses.

Liaise with Regents Safeguarding Lead regarding DBS checks and any subsequent risk assessments which are required.

Oversight of the Church Ministry Placement Modules and involvement with youth ministry Professional Development modules.

Provide ongoing oversight of student placements connecting online or in person to understand what placement opportunities would aid student development.

Oversee students whilst undertaking their placements to ensure they are contributing to the life of their placement context and gaining meaningful experience.

Liaise with placement supervisor to ensure the student is being giving meaningful experience, support and feedback.

Observe student placements, ensuring there is a consistent approach to grading students for their participation in their placement.

Respond appropriately as issues arise, escalating in accordance with safeguarding and complaints procedures.

Student Enrichment Activities



To work with the Principal and other team members to develop a range of student enrichment opportunities at Regents. It is envisioned that this might include facilitating student involvement in overseas missions trips (through Elim Missions), Regents UK missional activities, visits to historic places/sites of spiritual interest e.g. Israel/Ephesus, museums or ministries or accompanying a Regents team member when preaching across the UK.

To organise activities which would help those seeking voluntary or paid employment or ministry roles gain experience and develop transferable skills.

Signpost students to careers advice, and support in C.V. development.

To undertake organisational and administrative activities related to the above. Ensure compliance with organisational policy and legal requirements.

Ministry Development Opportunities



To liaise with the Principal and Elim's Director of Ministry who are involved in Elim's Ministerial Selection Board (MSB), Minister in Training development Team and stationing of Ministers in Training and Ministers across Elim.

To promote ministry and leadership opportunities in Elim and other churches and ministries to our campus, context and MFC students.

To identify students who have the call and capacity to undertake a minister in Training position whilst completing their studies.

To assist students in assessing their call to Elim or other church leadership positions. To provide guidance and signpost to Elim's Exploring Ministry course and MIT application. Guide students who are called to other denominations and ministries.

Recruitment of Students/Promotion of Regents



To be actively raising the profile of Regents and Elim in building relationships with churches.

Capture and share good news stories with Communications team to share on social media or charitable reporting.

To encourage church leaders to share the training and educational opportunities available at Regents with their congregations.

To attend Regents Open Days, and other promotional events and liaise with prospective students.

THE PERSON

Essential



Desirable



Qualification



Minimum of a bachelor's degree.

Evidence of ministry training and ongoing ministerial development.

Evidence of training in developing and teaching others.

Post graduate qualification in theology or similar subject.

Training in coaching and mentoring.

Knowledge and Experience



Be a credentialed minister in an Elim Church or Elim Chaplain.

Understanding of Elim's history, structures and foundational truths and be able to articulate them.

Experience in coaching and mentoring in ministry or other contexts.

Skills and abilities



Good IT experience. Able to use MS packages such as Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Zoom.

Ability to update our database and run reports (training available).

Able to manage time effectively and be productive ensuring positive contribution to Regents.

Able to work as part of a team and collaborate with others to fulfil the vision and mission of Regents.

Able to plan workload and meet deadlines internal to Regents and those set by statutory agencies and partners.

Good communication skills particularly when relating to our students who come from a wide range of backgrounds.

Able to work in an organised, flexible, innovative and adaptable way.

Good standing in Elim and local church community.

Honesty and integrity.

Enthusiastic and with a drive to achieve.

Willingness to continuously develop and learn, undertake PG studies if required. Some financial assistance may be available.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

A team player able to build relationships within the Regents team.

Tenacity to contact leaders and ministers to establish placement opportunities for our students.

Willing to seek help when having difficulty in fulfilling the requirements of a specific project or task.

To be accountable for own actions, maintaining high standards of conduct endeavouring to model standards established in Elim's professional ministerial guidelines.

Other Requirements



Able to work from home (a computer will be provided).

A valid UK driving license

Living within 90 minutes of Malvern and able to travel to visit Malvern to participate in the life of the Regents community.

To operate with a high level of autonomy, professionalism, passion and dedication to deliver timely standards with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

An Occupational Requirement exists for the post-holder to be a credentialed Elim Minister who assents to the Elim basis of faith in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
