Contract type: Open ended, full time (35 hours per week)
The opportunity:
As one of the world\'s leading universities we have an exciting forward ambition for global engagement and partnership. The University is seeking to appoint a Regional Director for Africa and the Middle East to undertake a lead role in directing and advancing the University\'s engagement and partnership activity across these regions.
The post will have responsibilities linked to both Africa and the Middle East, although Africa will be the primary focus. The Regional Director will be based in Edinburgh and will work closely with the University\'s Regional Dean for Africa, managing and developing partnerships, connections and opportunities with key institutions and agencies across the region and with responsibility for coordinating a diverse portfolio of activity for advancing the University\'s engagement.
It is anticipated that interviews will be held during the week of 30th October 2023.
Your skills and attributes for success:
- Able to provide accessible and strategic advice, intelligence and analysis, grounded in local knowledge and cultural and political understanding.
- Excellent relationship management skills
- Excellent planning and organisational skills to enable management and completion of multiple projects and tasks.
- Knowledge, experience and understanding of transnational education is desirable.
