We are looking for a highly motived and experienced broker facing professional to lead and optimise our regional Allianz Commercial trading profile and visibility, to provide the highest possible professional reputation in broker management. You will report directly to the Director of Distribution and will work closely with the regional leadership team to deliver in partnership the distribution and wider regional strategy

This is a hybrid role covering our North region, combining working from home with time in our Manchester office (typically 3 days per week in the office or out in the market)

The role will:

  • lead the effective distribution of Allianz Commercial business within the regional distribution team, developing and embedding the distribution strategy and execution of the Allianz Commercial plan .
  • Proactively build long-term, sustainable business relationships externally with brokers in order to engender customer loyalty and achieve profitable growth in line with our Commercial ambition.

  • Build authentic internal relationships and promote knowledge sharing across Allianz UK plc and across the Allianz group.

Key Accountabilities:

Strategic Distribution Leadership
  • Leads the delivery of the distribution strategy across our broker segments for the Commercial Region.
  • A core member of the Allianz Commercial regional leadership team with accountability for distribution performance
  • Closely collaborates with the Director of Distribution, Broker Distribution Management and Strategic Account Managers as well as the wider national distribution teams to assist development of the Allianz Commercial distribution strategy.
  • Takes responsibility for the distribution across the UK for one of our specialisms, e.g. Motor Trade / Speciality lines
  • Plays a lead role in the management of our broker networks to deliver the right level of value from these partners
  • Leads and co-ordinates distribution activity in partnership with regional and segment leadership to ensure service delivery as defined for each market segment.
  • Works collaboratively with regional distribution manager counterparts to ensure a consistent approach across all regions.
  • Works with the head of CRM to build robust broker distribution plans for the region, identifying existing and new customers who require CRM, supporting the delivery of our growth objectives.
Regional Distribution Team Leadership
  • Leads and engages the regional distribution team;
  • to deliver clear broker segment plans and engagement strategies for our broker segments
  • to assist delivery of clear customer distribution strategies across our digital, mid-corp and large corp trading verticals.
  • to agree and deliver the key distribution metrics across the region.
  • Manages the performance and develops the capability of teams and individuals within their region, through ensuring the highest standards of recruitment, training and development as well as building a succession plan in support of the strategic workforce planning (SWP).
  • Manages regional distribution expense budgets.
Strategic Engagement
  • Devise and agree the broker engagement, event and hospitality plan linked to the distribution segments, across the region.
  • Works closely with the strategic account managers to deliver the right structured engagement across our strategic accounts within the region and ensures we deliver value for money from our fee for service agreements
  • Builds a comprehensive internal and external network with strong individual relationships.
  • Maintain regular broker engagement at leadership levels on behalf of the wider business influencing their decisions and business strategies in a manner that positively supports customers and Allianz\'s business objectives.
  • Collaborates with counterparts across the Allianz group as part of One Allianz.
Distribution Disciplines
  • Ensure the standards of internal and regulatory governance are applied consistently and effectively across the branch network
  • Ensure the regional distribution teams fully utilise broker data platforms to support our growth objectives.
  • Lead and embed the use of data and insight tools to build robust market maps and detailed broker plans
  • Create, agree and deliver the distribution disciplines to enable an effective and compliant service-led business model.
  • Deliver an effective pipeline and cross sell strategy across the region to ensure delivery of our new business, quote and strike rate plans.
  • Lead the information sourcing for value chain assessment within your region.
Technical Skills

  • Full awareness of FCA/PRA regulatory environment.
  • Keen awareness and understanding of customer conduct disciplines and ethical standards
Experience
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of: the commercial insurance market place; regulation; current and emerging trends.
  • Confident in the development and pursuit/implementation of strategies to drive appropriate distribution improvement and adaptations in response to changing customer needs and business direction.
  • A proven track record of successfully working in market-facing insurer roles or in a senior business position where relationship and intermediary management has been a key part of the role.
  • Accomplished communicator and a key influencer in negotiations.
  • Managed a P&L account, expenses and Key Performance Indicators to deliver against Corporate Plan targets.
  • Has developed high-performing teams of experts and enthusiasts who take ownership for delivery against targets.
  • Ability to drive increased employee engagement across all areas supporting the Corporate Plan objectives.
