As a Retaining Wall Specification Manager (RWSM), you will play a pivotal consultative role, engaging with Civil, Structural & Geotechnical Engineers and play a supportive role with National Housebuilders, and Tier 1 Contractors to promote Tobermore's Secura retaining wall solution. Using your technical knowledge, Tobermore software tools, and value-engineering expertise, you will influence the specification process, secure product inclusion on construction drawings, and support long-term sales growth.

Responsibilities:
The following list constitutes the key tasks and duties of your post upon which your job performance will be assessed. Tasks are not in any particular order, therefore the sequence which they appear should not be interpreted as indicating priority or relative importance.
Duties will include:
Technical & Specification Support
Target Civil, Structural & Geotechnical Engineering consultants to assist in the specification of projects inline with the overall growth strategy and our National Housebuilder & Tier 1 Contractor strategies.
In collaboration with your engineering consultant and the Tobermore NHB/TOC account owner, liaise with technical staff members within NHBs & TOCs to discuss the technical specifics of their projects.
Confidently deliver CPD presentations to promote best practice in retaining wall design. o Demonstrate and train clients on the Tobermore bespoke software platforms to help clients integrate Secura into their designs.
Coordinate with Tobermore's network of 3rd party Geotechnical Engineering Consultants to deliver formal design services where required.
Business Development & Client Engagement
Secure and attend a minimum of 12 meetings per week with Specifiers. The Business Development Team will play a supporting role also.
Convert meetings into project specifications, defined as securing inclusion of Secura within construction drawings.
Identify new business opportunities by scrutinizing planning leads, target lists and other resources provided by Tobermore, including various construction intelligence and lead generation services.
Proactively build new relationships with prospective clients via direct outreach, referrals, and LinkedIn networking.
Project & Pipeline Management
Manage a portfolio of live design-stage projects, ensuring accurate and timely handover to the commercial sales team for order conversion.
Attend monthly Opportunity Reviews, providing up-to-date project intelligence and agreeing strategies to maximise conversion.
Gather, record, and share project intelligence to support the wider Housebuilding & Commercial Sales teams.
Collaboration & Teamwork
Work closely with the wider Specification Team to share knowledge, coordinate activity, and maximise specification opportunities.
Collaborate on joint CPD presentations and customer meetings where a combined approach adds value.
Proactively make introductions between engineering consultants, contractors, and Tobermore colleagues to broaden relationships and strengthen our market position.
Support team initiatives, contributing insights and feedback to help refine Tobermore's specification strategy.
Participate in regular team sessions to ensure consistency of message, approach, and client engagement across all regions.
CRM & Reporting
Maintain accurate records on the CRM/Dynamics system in line with Tobermore procedures.
Provide timely feedback on market activity, competitor products, and project pipeline performance
Representation & Brand Development
Build strong, long-term relationships with engineers and specifiers across your region.
Actively represent Tobermore at exhibitions, networking events, and industry forums.
Increase Tobermore brand visibility and engagement through professional use of LinkedIn.
Contribute positively to team meetings, sharing knowledge, insights, and best practice.
Other Duties
This is an external role which you will be expected to confidently conduct one to one meetings in a professional environment.

Required Criteria

  • o 5 GCSE's to include English & Maths A - C or equivalent
  • o 12 months of customer service experience o Experience in managing customer accounts
  • o Experience developing new business with customers o Track record of achieving targets set within your role
  • o Excellent communication and negotiation skills o Ability to present and sell products
  • o Goal-Oriented; Proven ability to meet targets and drive company strategy o Be well organised, systematic and someone who enjoys the challenge of sales
  • o Being enthusiastic, confident and having a desire to succeed o Have excellent telephone manner with objection handling skills

Desired Criteria
  • o A-levels/ Bachelors degree or equivalent o Sales or marketing certifications
  • o Experience in AutoCad design o Existing relationships within the construction industry, specifically with architects, landscape. architects, engineers, and local authorities o Experience with CRM software and Microsoft 365
  • o Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, competitors, and relevant legislation within the construction industry
  • o Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
