About The Role



We are looking for a Mobile Fitter to join the fantastic team at our Wigan Depot. This role will be responsible for carrying out diesel and electric engine and pump maintenance on customers sites and in the Wigan Depot workshop.

Due to the nature of our operations this role will involve being part of a call out rota, which has a standby allowance plus excellent overtime payment.

Responsibilities:



You will be required to work safely as a priority and a knowledge of PPE requirements is critical. Be able to communicate accurately with work colleagues and customers alike. Ensure that you obtain signatures and names from sites to ensure the smooth processing of tasks. Keep a good standard of housekeeping ensuring work areas and vehicles are kept in good order and clean. You will be required to complete daily vehicle defect reports to always ensure safety. Be able to carry out all given tasks as set out by following instructions or as per relevant training within a timely manner. Confirm understanding of company policies and procedures.

Skills and Experience:



We are looking for someone who has a real passion and willingness to learn, what you'll get from us in return is great long term career opportunities within the niche pump industry.

Previous demonstratable experience of working with engines or a mechanical engineering background, with the ability to understand underlaying issues and how to resolve them. Experience of working in a plant environment, on site with customers and in a workshop would be beneficial. Able to listen, take on board information, and be able to translate this into practical solutions. Demonstrate a willingness to grow within the role, be open to training opportunities, learning new skills, and be committed to developing upon the knowledge you already have. Hold an NVQ in plant maintenance, or a similar equivalent qualification. Full UK driving license, as this role will involve attending site visits and break downs.

Restrictions:



Must be fit and able to operate vehicles, DXB Integrate and customer's, machines without impaired vision or hearing and must comply with statutory medical standards.

Key Position Requirements:



To ensure that the manufacturing of pumpsets is carried out efficiently and with strict adherence to quality standards.

To co-ordinate activities ensuring that safety rules and procedures are strictly followed.

To understand, interpret and work to the relevant instructions and technical information available to carry out all tasks in the most efficient and safe manner.

Carry out work in compliance with manufacturers recommendations, procedures and having regard for your own health and safety, company employees, customers, public and the environment, identifying near misses where possible.

To build pumpsets powered by either diesel or electric motors, testing, preparing for final despatch.

To communicate accurately with your DXBi Director, DXB Pump & Power management, DXB Team members and customers alike on job requirements e.g., cost, downtime, and identifying cause.

To ensure security and safety gadgets are installed and there is an established emergency response procedure in case of accidents and injuries.

To communicate accurately with your manager and work colleagues.

To be focused on quality, timescales and working as part of a team.

All tools or equipment used to be kept in good condition. Any defects /faults identified must be reported to your manager.

To promote a continuous improvement culture by making suggestions to your manager.

To take pride in your area of work and maintain a clean working environment.

To be responsible for your work area, whether on customers' or DXB sites in a clean and tidy state.

To represent DXBi to the highest level, to be polite and cooperative with colleagues and customers alike, able to obtain signatures and customers alike, able to obtain signatures and names from site and to ensure the smooth processing of paperwork.

To comply with all PPE requirements for DXB Integrate or specific customer site regulations.

To operate cranes or other lifting equipment safely to lift, move, load or unload components or assemblies as necessary to carry out scheduled tasks.

To ensure that all manufactured products pass quality assurance tests and that they meet up with the Company's product specifications.

Carry out all reasonable requests, instructions or tasks set by the management or team leaders of DXB Pump & Power and DXB Integrate.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:



To have an in-depth knowledge of engineering procedures and know how to use and operate all applicable machinery.

To hold an NVQ or similar qualification in the maintenance of large engines or a time served apprenticeship within Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) or proven work history within a similar environment.

Meticulous attention to detail/sense of pride and ownership in your work

Ethical approach to maintaining confidentiality and discretion.

Ability to work quickly and accurately to set deadlines.

Good communicator with ability to operate in a team environment.

Co-operative and friendly personality.

Pay: 36,000.00-38,000.00 per year
