We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager to lead a small three-bed children's home in Handsworth. This is a care-focused environment that provides stability, safety and personalised support for children and young people with complex needs.
You will play a key role in creating a warm, structured home where every young person feels valued and encouraged to achieve their full potential. As the Ofsted Registered Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and maintaining high-quality care in line with Ofsted standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily management of the home, ensuring a safe, nurturing and child-centred environment
Lead and support a team of care staff, promoting a positive culture focused on development, consistency and emotional wellbeing
Ensure the home meets Ofsted's requirements and achieves strong inspection outcomes
Develop and implement care plans tailored to each child's individual needs
Maintain accurate records and ensure all safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory requirements are met
Recruit, train and develop staff to deliver exceptional standards of care
Build strong relationships with local authorities, social workers and families to ensure effective communication and partnership working
Monitor the performance and quality of care provision, implementing improvements where necessary
About You:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a managerial role within a children's residential setting
Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding and children's legislation
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
A caring, hands-on approach with a genuine passion for improving the lives of young people
Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills
